Acknowledgement

After four years of study the time had finally come for me to write what proved to be my biggest essay ever: my doctoral thesis. After following a course on Jewish American Fiction my interest in this scientific field was aroused, and that is why I chose to write about the Jewish American experience as reflected in fiction.
